Role of the BLTC at the District Level

In some districts, building level technology support is a full-time paid position. You could easily spend full time doing tech support in any school in Knox County from the largest to the smallest. We need you to know that the few of us could not make it without the few of you. Why do we call you Building Level Technology "Coach"? Athletic coaches get supplements and hopefully, technology coaches will as well one day!

What is your current role in the integration of technology in the classrooms at your school? Is this what you believe your role should be? What professional development do you need to help you in your role as a BLTC? These are questions for your consideration as you think about your role as a Building Level Tech Coach.

Commitment of personnel is an essential part of the BLTC program. We always request help for BLTCs. We appreciate your commitment to your school and your students. There are too few people with too many responsibilities. You are teachers first and we try to always not only understand this, but let others know as well.

Our expectations are that you will be an open line of communication between the school and the Instructional Technology Department. We expect that you or a represntative for you will come to all BLTC Meetings or Training sessions, stay for the entire day and participate in discussions and activities. We hope that you are here due to a personal interest in promoting technology in your school and acrosss the district.
