Setting Up a new computer in KCS

When setting up a new computer it is important to remember...

As you begin to set up new computers in your school, keep in mind that it is not your new computer, despite the fact that it resides in your classroom. It has to be set up acording to the guidelines provided by Knox County Schools in order to be serviced by any of the departments in KCS.

When you take the computer out of the box and turn it on the first time, be sure to follow the instuctions from the documents listed below. Computers that do not have conventional passwords and usernames run the risk of being reformated in order to do routine maintenance or during service. It is essental that the guidelines be followed.
