How do I subscribe to a Shared iCal Calendar on my Windows XP?

The first step is to download and install Sunbird by Mozilla on your computer. Use the following link to read more about and download Sunbird.

http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/sunbird

Now that you have installed Sunbird, open the program to subscribe to a shared network calendar.

In the menus, click on:

File> Subscibe to a Remote Calendar.

In the following window, choose to create a new calendar on my computer in order to store the information you will be accessing from the shared calendar.  Click Next.

In the following window, click on iCalendar (ICS).

Type the address to the Remote Calendar that you will be subscribing to in the Location line.

Example:

http://192.192.0.1/SharedCalFolder/Name_of _Cal.ics

Click Next.

In the Name line, type the name you wish to call your new calendar and choose a Color for the calendar.

Click Next.

You will now be able to see any event posted on the shared calendar on your calendar. You will not be able to edit this calendar but you will be able to obtain updated that have been made to the calendar.
