iPhoto- Effects and Adjust

(Download and import the picture files found on the first iPhoto page to complete these exercises.)

When editing your own images, it is a good idea to duplicate the image before you make changes. To duplicate an image, click on the image to select, then from the menus, choose Photos>Duplicate.

Effects:

By clicking on the Effects button, you will find a variety of effects that you can use on your photos.

Try several different effects on different images.

Adjust:

Adjust allows you to fine tune your images to get the most out of images that may not have been perfect when they were taken. You can adust brightness, contrast, play with the saturation and color levels.

Try not to overdo the sharpness (It can be addictive!) and remember that images that are "Adjusted" may not print as you expect them to.

Straighten actually allows you to change the tilt of the image. If your levels don't reach the end of the chart, you can move in the arrows at the ends to increase your color ranges.
