Step Two: The most essential part of your project will begin with the storyboard. Students will use the storyboard to create a plan for their movie. Have the students imagine creating a flipbook for the movie they wish to create.
If a student has not created a flip book, try making short ones with your class. Index cards may be used as the frames in the flip book. Students begin to get the idea for how many shots it will take to create their animations.
Have students brainstorm ideas and create a storyboard and script for their movie. First, they should come up with an idea for a character, props, and a background. With this information, they will need to come up with a storyboard for the idea to their movie.
A storyboard should include the basic layout of what happens in the movie. Most importantly, USE YOUR IMAGINATION!!
Sample Storyboard:

A good storyboard will note all major changes in position of the characters. You may want to estimate the number of frames needed to create the shift in positions and from one scene to another. Be sure to include close ups and dialogue or sound effects.
