You must create a connection to your server in order to use Contribute to create or edit your webpage. This article will explain more about server connections.
Before you can use Contribute, you must create a connection to your school’s web site. To do this, you must follow the directions sheet that was individually prepare for you. The directions sheet contains your individual username and password to the schools website. Additionally the directions sheet gives you step-by-step directions on connecting to the school web site. However, you may benefit from an overview of the process.
Overview of the First Connection to the School Web Site

You must make a ‘path’ or network connection to the school web server. The first eleven steps on the personalized direction sheet walks you through this process. More info..

After the network connection is established you are ready to configure the Contribute software with your personal connection to the school web site. The steps on the last half of the Directions Sheet walk you through the process. Remember you only have to do this once on your computer. |

NOTE: If others will be using the same computer to access the school web site. They must be given a different user account on the computer. After they are logged into the computer under their account, they will need to do a “First Connection” to the school web site.

Mac users do not need to go through the first eleven steps on the Directions Sheet. Windows users do not either as long as they have not deleted the shortcut to the web server from their desktop. |

Start the Contribute software. When you get the Contribute ‘Start Page’ click on your connection in the list. (It may listed as ‘Untitled’.) |

If you see the message that you are not ‘Connected’, click the ‘Connect’ button. Enter you personal username and password that you were given on the Directions Sheet. |
