You can generate an html page of the AR tests available at your school. This list can be used to create a webpage for students to look through when they are deciding what to read next. Directions for generating the lists will be posted soon.
Instuctions for the first time your place your AR html files on the server:
- After generating the html file, name it artestxxxxxx.html {xxxxxx = current date in numbers with no punctuation or spaces}. Example: artest092905.html
- Place the file into a folder named: ar_tests.
- Copy the folder you have just created.
- WIN- right click on folder, choose copy from menu.
- MAC- single click on folder, choose Edit > Copy from menu.
To make a link to your html page, it must first be placed on the server. Make sure you have a connection to your server on your desktop.

Minimize Contribute or other applicaitons you have open.

Find the shortcut to the server on your desktop. On a Mac it will look like a little gray world with the name of your folder on it. On Windows it will be called Shortcut to...(the name of your folder). |

Open your shortcut by double clicking on it. |

You will see the contents of your folder. Paste the ar_test folder into the contents of your folder. |

Your files are now on the server and ready to be linked. |
You will now need to decide where you want your link. It can be on any of the pages you have created in Contribute. Reopen Contribute, find the page you want and click on edit page. When you have chosen a spot, type in the text you want students to use as a link. Example: Find AR Books here

Highlight the text you wish to link. |

Click on the link icon in the tool bar on Contribute. Choose browse to a webpage. Make sure Browse is chosen in the dialogue window that appears.

Click on the Choose button found on the lower left side of the dialogue box.

Your website folder will appear in the dialogue box. Single click on the folder and click the "Open" button. |

You will find the folder ar_test. Click open. |

You will find the document artestxxxxxx.htm {xxxxxx = current date in numbers with no punctuation or spaces}. Click OK. |

Look at the bottom of the remaining dialogue box. Find the Advanced Options.
Click in the text box labeled Target window. Change to New Window. This will cause your AR document to open in a new window to prevent losing your navigation theme.

Click OK. Your link is now active and opens the list of AR books. |
