At-Your-School
Training for Teachers
Ongoing sustained training is the key in the effective use of technology to enhance student learning. Through current and updated training teachers can help students create meaningful learning experiences using everchanging technology.
The Knox County Schools Instructional Technology Department can often provide an on-site trainer for "At-Your-School" Training days. There are several different ways to acomplish this. You can book a trainer to come to your school or you can have a staff member work with a trainer or training team to provide training for your staff.
BLOCK Training can be arranged during teacher plan time in schools that implement block scheduling. A one hour session could be offered a number of times the same day so that teachers would be able to attend with their grade level or during their specific plan time.
AFTER SCHOOL Training can be scheduled for staff in meeting places at the school such as the media center or cafeteria. Teachers can bring laptops or use equipment available in the meeting area.
INSERVICE Training can be scheduled on planned inservice days. A trainer can come to your school to present to your staff on Knox County Inservice days.
SUMMER Training can be scheduled for your staff at the training center. By having your staff attend a session here, you bypass the need to worry about providing equipment to a large group at one time.
By having training at your school or with your staff, you can request the types and length of training to meet your specific need. Please be sure to plan well in advance of your time frame. Training staff is limitied and are often booked up to a year in advance.
