Bridgewater/Raynham Regional High School has a clean and crisp website. All information is accessible from the home page as you scroll down the page. I like the textured background with the gray. The red lines and other art work enhance the professional feel to the site.

I felt the design of the Independence High School site was bulky and awkward. There were too many frames with too many font sizes and changes.

Some of their links are unclear. For example I might not know to find my childÕs classroom information under news and activities. Fortunately after the 1st trip to this site I would be able to navigate much easier. They have an incredible amount of Kidstuff and Helpful Links. The Home Page is fun to look at – inviting. Overall a very good site.

This is a gifted class home page. It has great links(even back to the schoolÕs page-this home page is also very interesting to view. Very colorful and informative.). It has wonderful up – to – date information. The look and text on the page are appropriate for the class. I came to this site from a link given to me at a workshop. The activity I was interested in was book-studies. This teacher has included everything necessary to help you load her book-studies. She has also included all her teaching material. I gained a lot of information from this site. It was a great site.

There isnÕt much here that I can find – except sports and staff. Not much use for parents and community who want to find out what is happening academically. Maybe this is just something quick to get on-line but I would definitely add links for each grade, give mission statement, and tell what special things or events are going on at this school.

The home, or index page features a menu of buttons on the left-hand side. This site contained several pages similar to the format that we will use in Knox County,É

É The ÒStaffÓ page was impressive to me.  It was arranged as a table, loaded very quickly, and included staff photos, email addresses, as well as listing the each staff memberÕs qualifications.  The ÒPolicy/ProcedureÓ page appears to be similar to the Richard Yoakley Student Handbook, and I think that it would be a good idea to make our student handbook available onlineÉ

É This page even included some PowerPoint slideshows on their service learning projects.  I thought that their ÒLinksÓ page would fit more logically under their ÒLibraryÓ page, because there is a listing of links on the library page already, and I noticed some redundancy in sites listedÉ

É The ÒInformationÓ page contains a brief description of the program.  This alternative school has a different mission from my own school, because students are not sent there for behavioral problems.  The ÒAcademicsÓ page has a listing of various departments within the school and staff membersÕ names.  There are no email addresses or pictures of the staff members, and this should be included.  On the ÒNewsÓ page, there is a listing of awards, a listing of names of new teachers, and below that, a letter to parents.  This website could definitely be better organized by using an organizational structure similar to the one weÕre using for Knox County.  The letter to parents would probably fit well on a ÒPrincipalÓ page.  This appears to be large school with much to offer students.  Each academic department should probably have its own web page with course descriptions.  Listing the schoolÕs administration and cafeteria workers does not logically fit under ÒAcademics,Ó so a separate ÒStaffÓ page is neededÉ

The website that I found to be most in need of improvement was that of Everett Learning Opportunity Center/Blount County Adult Education Program located in Blount County, TennesseeÉ

É The websiteÕs index page has the schoolÕs address and phone number, the coordinatorÕs email address, and one link apiece for the Everett Learning Opportunity Center and the Blount County Adult Education Program.  Each of these pages lists the staff membersÕ names, but no pictures or contact information is included.  A very brief description is given about each program on their respective pages as well, but thatÕs it, which is not enough.

This web site is for an alternative school in Canada. It took me a long time to actually figure out where it was located.
Since I work in the alternative school in Knoxville I was very interested in finding out about other alternative programs. This is actually called the Alternative High School in Alberta, Canada. They actually had a student design the web page. I found it difficult to find out what the school was actually about. I couldn't find much information about the staff. It was a difficult site to search. Much of it was difficult to read because there was not enough contrast between the background and the text.

This one sounds really interesting. The name of the school is Second Opportunity School. It's in the Bronx in NYC. I really would like to know more about this one but the link for the school itself does not work. There was some information on that page about the school but it's confusing because there is so much information on the side about the school system. This site really is not very helpful if you want to find out about the alternative school in New York City.

This web site is for an alternative school in Lawrence, Kansas.
I really liked the home page because you can tell what the school was about, where it is located and something about the subjects and the staff. They have a simple page for each staff member along with an email address. You can tell at a glance, how many students they serve and what their purpose is. The only thing this seems to lack is a link to the district they are located in. I would like ours to have more information about each teacher like they do.

This web site is for an alternative school in Peoria, Illinois.
It was easy to navigate and to find what you are looking for too. The mission statements were very similar to ours. It includes a page for ÒAdopt a school partners.Ó I didnÕt think about that but we should probably include that too. It does have a link back to the district site.

The web site very basic, and hasnÕt been updated since July. It makes you think that this was something they had to do, not something they wanted to do for their parents and students.

This site is simple yet effective. You can tell that it is a work in progress, but that they are really trying to make it an effective tool for parents and students.

Excellent web site! (My Alma Mater)  This site has a user friendly layout which makes it easy to navigate, and it is full of up-to-date relevant information. It is a good resource for both parents and students. Of course, being a high school site means that the students have a lot of input in the final product, but the teachers are also accountable for creating and maintaining their own web pages.

I was encouraged to see that this website was well put together.  It is easy to navigate; up-to-date information is available; and the individual teachers' web pages are kept current, for the most part. Ease in navigation was apparent in the overall visual appearance of the main page.  The link buttons were clearly visible and effectively named. The main page was uncluttered, which helped me find the different buttons I needed. The links to the school system's pages, such as calendars and menus, are easily accessible as well. The website seemed to be up-to-date school wide. The daily announcements as well as past announcements are easily accessible as well as the daily calendar. Many individual teachers' web pages were kept current, even though a few were not. Some of the teachers had daily assignments listed, as well as a PowerPoint presentation accessible. Still others had links listed on their web pages that would be helpful in doing research or homework. Overall, I enjoyed the ease and ready information that Cedar Bluff's webpage offered.

This website, as well, had great visual effects, including a slide-show presentation on the welcome page.  It offered links to each teacher with personal information and pictures of each teacher.  There were student activity pages with slide shows and information about activities, as well as pictures of the activity's sponsor.  This webpage also gave links to the school system, Jefferson County Schools, main pages for items such as school system calendars and programs.

This website was disappointing, to say the least.  The main welcome page was colorful, yet boring.  The information offered on the website was out of date and limited. The homepage, while quite colorful, had only links to the administration's personal web pages, which were merely personal letters welcoming visitors to the website.  The link to the administratorÕs web pages was extremely small and easily missed if you're not looking for it.  There were no staff links, or even lists of who was on the staff. As stated before, there were no links to personnel.  There were, however, links to calendars of testing and other events.  These calendars, though, were from last year or before.  No updates have been made to the site since last year. With very little to peruse, there is very little to say about the site itself.  On a positive note, the links that were available to the administration's web pages and calendars did work.
