ACTIVITY THREE: Nettrekker and United Streaming

Hotlists and webguides are terrific ways to give students large numbers of links at one time. They eliminate needless search time. Have you ever gone to the internet to look for a recipe and ended up three hours later buying a car? While that may be the extreme, we have all gotten lost in the web. Your students do as well. Webguides, hotlists and Nettrekker will allow you to limit your students to sites you have examined to ensure they get the information you intended.

Nettrekker is a subscription software available to all Knox County School teachers and students.

Using a computer at a Knox County School site, register for your own nettrekker account. If you do not have access to a KCS site, contact your facilitator for a temporary username and password.

Another subscription resource available to Knox County teachers is United Streaming. To register for a unitedstreaming account, contact your facilitator for your school's registration code or for a temporary account. (non-KCS teachers will get a temporary account for use during the class)

Practice downloading a movie from unitedstreaming to use with your class. Email your instructor with comments on Nettrekker and unitedstreaming. List the name of a movie you have downloaded.
